These are the Auburndale Students Shows:

Winter and Spring Fine Arts Night features art in the High School Library created by our High School and Middle School artists. The art show is the same night as the Band and Choir concerts. They typically happen in December and May.

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin features a student show for either High School or MIddle School work.

2025 is a Middle school year. We have 4 entries.

On the Opposite year then, Leigh Yawkey features High School students.

Marawood Conference Art happens every year in February: This is also an opportunity for me as Art teacher to meet with other art teachers from our conference while 5 students enjoy learning art techniques. This year's students learned rug hooking, Painting a mural and ceramics.

Youth Art Month is regional and then state wide. We were able to put 5 student artworks into the regional show and 3 went onto state, which is held in Madison in late March.

There are other art shows such as the congressional art show, scholastic art for visual art and writers as well as Teen WRAP.

About the Art Educator

Mrs. Rebekah Heeg earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.

This is Mrs. Heeg's second year teaching art full time, first full year at Auburndale with her start date being Jan 1, 2024.

Mrs. Heeg is enjoying the opportunity to help 6th thru 12th grade students make art, as well as encourage their creativity.

A goal I like to keep in mind is how being in art shows in high school helped me feel successful and accomplished as a young person.

I do hope to continue to offer art show participation to our middle and high school students here in Auburndale.
