We agree to supervise carefully the activities and building (or equipment), and to be responsible financially to the district for any damage that might occur to the building, property or equipment, due to such use, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the school. We also agree to relieve the district from all liability and/or responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss to any person participating in or attending the functions, and to indemnify and hold the district harmless from such consequences. This includes all persons who participate, regardless of time of incident.

*The District reserves the right to change or reschedule usage or rooms or buildings whenever, in the opinion of the District, there is a conflict. The District may also require the sponsor to supply proof of liability insurance under specific building use circumstances when there is an activity scheduled in a school area that is not designed to handle that particular activity and the activity would place participants in a situation where the District could be liable for damages to individuals or property.

BUILDING UTILIZATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

*In the opinion of the District, if there is a conflict in there is a conflict, the District reserves the right to change or reschedule usage, rooms, or buildings.

*A designated supervisor, approved by the District Administrator, is required whenever an event is held on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday or non-school day.

*Individuals may not enter the gym prior to their scheduled time or without permission of the District. Please respect others' scheduled time.

*All supervisors/coaches of functions involving school age participants must allow for student participation in Religious Education classes.

*Individuals must end practices or events early enough to allow adequate cleanup and transition to the next group.

*Users are responsible for putting up and taking down of equipment and putting all equipment away. Users are responsible for arranging any moved furniture back to its original place. Users are responsible for picking up any wastepaper/garbage in the area of usage. All lights must be turned off on days when no regular custodian is on duty.

*Kitchen usage - Users are responsible for cleaning any equipment and appliances used during their event. Sinks and countertops must be cleaned. Floors must be swept.

* During building use, no equipment is to be moved from one District building to another District building or off of the property of the School District of Auburndale.

*Failure to comply with these conditions may result in termination of the Building Utilization Agreement or a waiver of the charges.

*Community walking will be available on the first floor at the high school every Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 10:00 p.m. during the school year. Early morning walking will be available on the first floor at the high school from 5:00 - 7:30 a.m. every morning during the school year. Early morning walkers must be finished and out of the building by 7:30 a.m.


I have read above guidelines and agree that my group will adhere to the rules and regulations of the School District of Auburndale. I realize failure to do this may result in an additional charge or the termination of my group's privilege for building usage.

The following definitions will be used in determining the fees to be charged in utilization of the Auburndale School facilities:

GROUP A - All requests by individuals and/or organizations who are not directly tied to programs approved by the Board of Education and not otherwise defined below, and whose use and utilization of the school facilities result in or does not result in a fee or monetary charge to the participants and/or Auburndale School Community members, regardless of the amount of profit realized by the individual and/or organization.

GROUP B - Individuals, groups or organizations who are asked by the district to host an activity, event, athletic camp or sports clinic in which fees may be charged may have those rental or supervisor/custodian charges adjusted in full or partial amounts based on an actual cost analysis.

GROUP C - Any individual/organization making application to utilize school buildings or specific equipment located within or on school grounds which consists of a majority of its members/participants being school district residents shall be exempted from fees providing at least one of the following provisions are applicable:

*A district employee/custodian is present in the building or on the grounds.

*An adult sponsor or sponsors have accepted financial responsibility for property damage not covered under or by district insurance providers.

*Funds raised by any program or event are directed to enhance or benefit district students, buildings or grounds.

Criteria For Application and Review.
*Each building/equipment utilization form properly filed shall be promptly reviewed by the Board or its designee(s) and a prompt response be given to the applicant(s). Exception or special requests shall be placed on the next board agenda for final action.

*Any organization requesting a building/equipment utilization agreement shall determine the criteria for participation in the event or activity at the time of application submittal.

Paid supervisors/custodians are not required when an event is held at the high school building during the regular school year, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 10:30 P.M.

Paid supervisors/custodians are required whenever an event is held on a Saturday, Sunday, Holiday, or non-school day. Costs for supervisors will be based upon current language contained in the master agreement between the Auburndale Education Association and the Auburndale School Board. The charge for custodian to cover the cost of the services needed shall be determined by the District Administrator.

Charges for custodian services shall be determined by the District Administrator based on the current paraprofessional wage scales and fringe benefit costs. An individual who is willing to donate their time as a supervisor or custodian without charge may be approved by the District Administrator.
