385 - STUDENT AND TEACHER REPRESENTATION

I. The School District of Auburndale supports and encourages excellence in all programs under the supervision of the school system. A variety of competitive activities which are related to the approved curricular and co-curricular program objectives are encouraged and supported within certain limits. National competition is supported within the following rules and regulations.

II. To be considered an approved activity, the following criteria must be met:

A. The organization and activity is an approved program supported by the Board of Education.

B. The activity is a logical extension of, related to, a school sponsored curricular or co-curricular activity.

C. The organization and activity is approved by the Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, Wisconsin Forensics Association, Wisconsin Association of School Musicians, Wisconsin Association School Administrators, or other recognized education agencies or authority.

III. No school sponsored activity or school approved participation of students will be allowed without adequate and approved supervision.

IV. Funds for the support of activity shall be the primary responsibility of the sponsoring organization or club, or other outside sources. In the event the sponsoring organization does not have sufficient funds available and in the opinion of the Board of Education they have available funds within the adopted budget, the Board may contribute up to 50 percent of the cost of the trip, to a maximum of $200.00.
