364 - GUIDANCE PROGRAM

A continuous program of guidance services shall be maintained in Grades Kindergarten through Twelve. The guidance program is designed to be student oriented and shall maintain as its overall objectives:

1. Assist each student to develop as a human being, a citizen and an adult

2. Provide guidance and conflict resolution skills to students in personal decision making

3. Assist students in vocational and educational planning

4. Provide leadership in district wide testing programs and A.O.D.A. education

5. Assist students in personal concerns

6. Provide emotional and social support

7. Aid in the development of effective communication skills

8. Promote an environment of fairness, respect and trust

Principals and guidance counselors shall be responsible for the screening of all new students, the maintenance of student records, the testing program and student scheduling.
