345 - ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT LETTER
Academic preparation of students remains the primary objective of the Auburndale Jr/Sr High School. To acknowledge, reward, and honor students with high academic achievement, the Auburndale Board of Education has designated the Academic Letter as an official recognition of those students.ELIGIBLE CRITERIA - SENIOR HIGH:
A. Any student whose academic achievement indicates a minimum of 3.60 grade point average or above on a 4.00 point scale for any three semesters during their enrollment in grades nine (9) through twelve (12) will be awarded an Academic Letter and Certificate. Only those grades received by students while enrolled at Auburndale High School are eligible.
B. Transfer students who have been enrolled for three semesters or less are eligible to petition to receive an Academic Letter on the basis of two semesters of 3.60 GPA or above.
C. Students receiving the Academic Letter shall be eligible to participate in all clubs/activities the same as athletic letter winners.
D. All students receiving two Academic Letters will also receive the distinction of being named Captain.
ELIGIBLE CRITERIA - JUNIOR HIGH:
A. Any Junior High student whose academic achievement indicates a minimum of 3.60 grade point average or above on a 4.00 point scale for any four quarters will be awarded an academic certificate. Only those grades received by students while enrolled at Auburndale High School are eligible.
B. Transfer students who have been enrolled for three quarters or less are eligible to petition to receive an Academic Letter on the basis of two quarters of 3.60 GPA or above.
