345.42 - EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS EARNING HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS

The School District of Auburndale shall allow advanced eighth grade students to enroll in certain ninth grade classes when the scheduling of these classes are available and students have been selected as qualified for success in the class. These students who take high school level courses will receive high school credit toward graduation upon successful completion of such courses. The grade achieved will not count toward high school honor roll, accumulated grade point average, or class rank.

All classes taken in the senior high school as junior high students will be counted as an elective and will not count as meeting any of the required class criterion. On the student’s official senior high school grade transcript, these class credits will be recorded as a pass or a fail and not be calculated in the student’s senior high school grade point average. These classes will be counted as a completed classes toward junior high school class advancement and will be calculated in the student’s junior high school grade point average.
