182 - QUORUM
A majority of the school board members constitute a quorum at a regular or special school board meeting.Three board members present shall constitute a quorum. Wisconsin Supreme Court has adopted the common law rule that, absent a statute to the contrary, when a quorum required to conduct business is present, a majority of the votes actually cast is sufficient to adopt a motion even though, because of abstention, the vote is less than a majority of the required quorum.
In the absence of a quorum, the meeting shall go by default as no legal action can be taken.
