162 - NEW SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER ORIENTATION
The School District of Auburndale shall make every effort to assist new board members in their education as new school official decision makers. Functions, procedures, practices, policies, and past history will be explained to assist the new board member assume their leadership roles and responsibilities.The orientation of new board members shall include the following:
- An individual meeting with the District Administrator to include building and staff orientation
- An individual meeting with the Board President
- And a joint meeting with the District Administrator and Board President
In addition, new board members shall receive the following:
- Materials that detail board member powers, duties, limitations, role, and legal responsibilities
- Introduction to the school websites containing school board policies, district news, school email, annual calendar, etc.
- Materials pertinent to meetings and other required information
- A copy of the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law Compliance Guide
- Encouragement to attend WASB seminars, meetings, and conferences
