The School District of Auburndale’s Board of Education reserves exclusive rights to accept and/or reject all gifts of money, and property. Individuals and employees may not accept gifts.
The board may accept and use any bequest of a gift of money or property for a purpose which is consistent with the established goals and objectives of the school district. Any gift presented to the district should be accompanied by a letter from the donor, or the donor designee, or be personally represented at a board meeting for official action and recognition by the Board of Education.
To be considered appropriate for acceptance by the Board of Education the gift shall:
1. Have a purpose consistent with those of the school/board
2. Be offered by a donor(s) acceptable by the Board
3. Place no restriction on the school program(s)
4. Is absent of inappropriate or harmful criteria which could interfere in the education of the students
5. Does not require endorsement of a business or product
6. Is absent of conflict with school policy, code, or local, state, and federal laws
7. All gifts are the sole property of the school system although they may be designated as donated to a specific class, department, instructor or class
8. The board remains the final authority on placement and distribution of any gifts
9. All gifts, once accepted, remain the sole property of the School District of Auburndale
The School District of Auburndale shall not discriminate in acceptance and administration of gifts, bequests, scholarships, and other aids, benefits, or services to students from private agencies, organizations, or persons on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability.
