1. The Board will first consider and give preference to internal candidates when filling vacant extracurricular positions.
2. On-staff professionals who wish to apply for an extracurricular position which is currently held by a non-staff employee must file a letter of application for that position no later than February 1 of the current school year.
3. A non-staff extra duty contract may be renewed if there is not a more qualified on-staff professional to fill this position and/or the overall performance of the non-staff employee warrants the continuance of this person in this position.
4. Non-staff extra duty assignments are to be placed on a year-to-year contractual basis and shall terminate at the end of the stated contract term.
5. Non-staff extra duty personnel shall be evaluated annually by the contracted individual’s supervisor in accordance with school guidelines and practices.
6. Non-staff extra duty assignments shall follow the same guidelines and standards as professional staff extra duty assignments.
