In accordance to the federal legislation "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001", the School District of Auburndale will comply to requests by military recruiters for student information. Access to students’ names, addresses, and phone numbers will be provided in compliance with the law.
Information will be released unless a secondary school student or the parent of the student requests that the student's name, address, telephone listing, and other information not be released to military recruiters or institutions of higher education without prior written parental consent. The School District will notify parents of this option to make such a request and the District’s intention to comply with any such request in the District Mirror at the beginning of each school year. In the absence of such a request not to release information, student data will be released under the Act in the same manner that it is provided generally to post-secondary educational institutions or to prospective employers of those students.
