REGULAR BOARD MEETING
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2010

President Douglas Reding called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the District Office Meeting Room in the Elementary School and read the Compliance with the Open Meeting Law and Statutory Notices.

Members present were: Michael Hansen, Douglas Reding, Bob Haupt, Cheri Dimick and Marleen Knutson.

Bob Haupt moved, Michael Hansen seconded, to declare the meeting legal. Motion carried.

Recognition of the Public Who Wish to Comment to the Board. Carmen Bolder asked for public guidelines on the procedures to request an agenda item. Gwen Altmann asked about the status of the honors study hall. Marleen Knutson congratulated the girls cross country team and the volleyball team on qualifying for state competition. Mrs. Knutson congratulated the following individuals selected for Marawood All-Conference honors: Football–Defense-First Team - CJ Castellano, Second Team-Jake Hansen, Honorable Mention – Collin Hamus, Tim Schroeder and Kyle Willfahrt. Football-Offense-First Team – Collin Hamus, Kyle Willfahrt; Second Team - Kaleb Meyer and Tony Altmann. Volleyball, South Division – First Team-Liz Breu, Kayleigh Kundinger and Kari Willfahrt, Second Team – Kimberly Masephol and Kayla Nikolay; Honorable Mention – Haley Harman and Nicole Nikolay. Mrs. Knutson congratulated the directors and students on the wonderful performance of Li’l Abner. Gwen Altmann stated the Auburndale FFA Chapter received the National Two Star Chapter Award at the FFA National Convention.

Marleen Knutson moved, Cheri Dimick seconded, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Bob Haupt moved, Cheri Dimick seconded, to approve the open session minutes from the regular board meeting held on October 27, 2010. Motion carried.

Michael Hansen moved, Bob Haupt seconded, to approve the closed session minutes from the regular board meeting held on October 27, 2010. Motion carried.

Treasurer Cheri Dimick reported on the Finance Committee meeting. Cheri Dimick moved, Michael Hansen seconded, to approve the additional October and November vendor checks #1306-1320, #3096-3115, #57358-57570, payroll checks #37703-37763 and direct deposits #900028185-900028413 in the amount of $983,466.83. Motion carried.

Correspondence – A thank you was read from the family of Janice Strigel.

Marleen Knutson moved, Bob Haupt seconded, to accept the donations, with a letter of gratitude, for State Cross Country and Volleyball. Motion carried. Cross Country - Auburndale Athletic Booster Club – tote of water and snacks Volleyball – tote of water and snacks and $150 toward the cost of pep band tickets, Karleen Weinfurter who took a new team picture for the state program and newspaper, Jon Empey - towels to be used for the first time at state, the Swart family - snacks, Tim and Vicki Anderson – sport drinks, Karen Luttropp – cookies.

Bob Haupt moved, Michael Hansen seconded, to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with the Auburndale Education Association to revise the 2010-11 school year calendar. Motion carried.

Scott Gralla of PMA Financial Network presented a financial forecast model for the School District of Auburndale using a financial planning program.

District Administrator Gerald Eichman, Finance Director Charles Payant, Elementary Principal Andrew Place, Middle/Senior High School Principal James Meyer shared informational reports with the Board.

Available dates for future meetings were discussed.

Marleen Knutson moved, Michael Hansen seconded, to adjourn to Closed Session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c) to consider the employment and performance of a school employee. Motion carried.

Marleen Knutson moved, Bob Haupt seconded, to reconvene to open session. Motion carried.

Michael Hansen moved, Bob Haupt seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 p.m. Motion carried.
